We
are often asked questions about transporting scopes. How should
they be loaded? What scope will fit into a certain vehicle?
Etc. etc. etc.
Starmaster Telescopes are designed to be "user friendly." There are several
ways to load them, store them or pack them depending on an individuals
requirements. To help demonstrate this flexibility, we have added
this Pack-M- Up Photo Album to our web site.
If you have a Starmaster Telescope, please
send us some pictures of how you transport your scope so we can post them here.
Mark
Abraham sent us this picture of his 24" Starmaster loaded into
his 5'x8' cargo trailer. Actually, the scope only occupies
the rear half of the trailer -- the front half is set up as an office
complete with computer and DirectTV receiver. The rear section is
divided into three shelves. The mirror transport box and rocker box
sit on the floor, the mirror box, secondary cage and eyepiece case sit on
the middle shelf, and the truss poles, transport handles and six foot
ladder on the top shelf.

When Mister Hillary picked up his new 20" Starmaster, we loaded it all into his Volvo Station Wagon, with room to spare! |

Al Schlafli writes:
"Here are some pictures of my new 18" Starmaster
being "squeezed" into a PT Cruiser. Actually,
squeezed is not a good term - there is plenty of room for the scope
as well as observing and camping equipment." |

Mike Wirths built this custom chromed, diamond plated
steal box to transport his 18" Starmaster in his pick-up
truck. Mike said it was surprisingly affordable, and his
wife, Pamela, added that it also held most of their camping
equipment. If you'd like to learn more about Mike's box, just
drop him an email. |

Dick Denison transports his 14" Starmaster in his Toyota Camary
by placing the mirror transport box in the trunk with the rocker box
sitting upside-down on top of it. The mirror box and secondary
cage sit in the back seat. Note: Dick's 14 is an older model which is about 1" larger all around than the new 14" Hybrid.

share? We'd love to see a new 16.5" FX packed up and ready to go, as
well as any other FX telescope. Please send them Rick if you do. |
