2012: Just outside
the shop - faint aurora
Some
months back I missed a pretty decent display of northern lights that
happened early in the evening. I was in the shop, working away,
and it was clear, but I didn't know it was going on until it was nearly
over.
The display this week wasn't as good, but at least I got
an interesting photo of a display that was just visible to my
dark-adapted eye. The high clouds made the light pollution, from
Champaign-Urbana to my northwest, worse, but at least the aurora is
visible.
I'm still waiting for a good display (stronger storm, no clouds) so I can get some photos of it over the house/shop.
